Questions and Answers about Intuition and Medical Intuition
Medical Intuition is the art of discovering the mind, body and spiritual roots of illness through intuitive perception.
Energy Medicine is the art of using subtle energies, including the
meridians and the chakras to revitalize and harmonize body, mind and spirit.
A Medical Intuitive is one practitioner among many holistic health care professionals that may support you along your healing path. I encourage all of my clients to see themselves as the central active agent in their own health care and to view all possible providers as consultants. A consultant is someone from whom you seek professional expertise which then gets integrated into a larger perspective to form a body of informed wisdom from which a plan of action is generated..
Q: What is the goal of a medical intuitive session?
A: A medical intuitive session is considered an integrative modality. The goal is to look at the symptoms in terms of the "whole" person from a mind/body/spirit perspective. It is not a substitute for medical treatment but an adjunct modality that may be used to supplement any medical treatment you are receiving.
Q: When should I consult with a medical intuitive?
A: There are several gauges to use when making the decision to consult with a medical intuitive:
- When a symptom persists despite medical treatment and you wish to discover the underlying psychological/spiritual root.
- When you sense that a symptom is a symptom for something at the soul level and wish to participate more fully in your own healing.
- When medical treatment has not found the correct treatment for your symptom and "has no clue" where to go next.
- When you desire feedback on your own intuitive sense of the situation.
Q: What will happen during a session with Sarah Weiss?
A: Each medical intuitive conducts their sessions in a manner unique to his/her personality and spiritual attunement.
The first part of the session consists of a dialog between the intuitive and the client which includes a history of the issue and setting a goal for the session.
The second part involves relaxing into a quiet state of consciousness, guided by the intuitive, so that the client may get in touch with their own inner physical and spiritual state.
The third part is an energetic journey where the client and the intuitive explore the language of the soul and body in relationship to the symptoms and stated goal. The intuitive may use internal viewing which is the ability to perceive directly into the body or energetic perception which scans the energy fields around the body to determine the root cause of the symptoms. The experience is informational, healing and educational.
Q: How long does a session take and how much does it cost?
A: It depends, that will be determined during the phone call to set up the appointment. Depending upon what I intuit the session could be 60, 90 or 120 minutes long. My fees are based upon an hourly rate that changes every few years.
Q: Does healing take place during the session?
A: I am a healer as well as an intuitive so it is very possible that healing will take place during the session. Being a medical intuitive does not mean he/she is a healer as well..
Q: Does everyone have the ability to be a medical intuitive?
A: If you exist in a body, you can be a medical intuitive. We have been taught to believe that the body is a mysterious place where only medical devices and chemical tests can reveal it's mystery. This just isn't true. If you aren't in your body, who is? Your consciousness has the ability to penetrate and be present to every cell and organ in your body. You have been led to believe that the only place you exist is in your head. Today's scientists now realize that every cell of the body is conscious and that we can learn to be aware at this level.
Q: Does this conflict with my religious beliefs?
A: This is a universal experience and is not religious based nor is it a psychic experience. It is an intuitive experience where the client is very involved with the process. You are completely aware the entire time and even more fully present than usual. You may ask for protection and guidance from any religious or spiritual figure you find inspiration from.
Q: How reliable are the results?
A: I find there are many factors that affect the outcome and whether you determine a session "successful" or not.
- An intuitive usually knows when they have a "hit" or not and they should be honest with you about this.
- A client may not like what he/she hears from the intuitive reading and therefore dismiss the information as unreliable. I have had clients come back to me 10 years later to tell me they disregarded what I said and through much time, pain and expense ultimately found out that what I said originally turned out to be true but they didn't want to accept it at the time.
- Sometimes a client and an intuitive are not a good "match". I try to determine this in the phone conversation to set up the appointment. If I feel we are not a good match I will refer you to someone who I think is a good match.
- The information you receive from an intuitive may not match the traditional medical establishment's perception of a symptom and you may be challenged to find someone to treat you using the information provided. For example, one client was reporting terrible lower back pain that had no apparent cause and I traced it to the tightness in her calves and repressed anger from childhood that was revealed in the energetic scan. Once we brought the hidden emotions to the surface and taught her to relax her calf muscles, the lower back pain disappeared. I try to provide referrals to respected physicians, therapists, OT/PT, acupuncturists, healers, etc. that are familiar with an integrative approach and who will support your healing path.
Q: Can a session be done by phone?
A: Yes, the session can be done via the telephone. The client needs to be sitting or lying comfortably with a speaker phone in a quiet place.
Q: Is a Medical Intuitive licensed?
A: No there is no licensing or regulatory body for medical intuitives at this time. I am licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board to practice massage, certified in Polarity Therapy and Infant Massage, certified as a Master Level Qigong Instructor in the Inner Dan Arts lineage, a Reiki Master, a lineage holder in the Inka tradition, and have a Masters Degree in Communications and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Art. I have been a student of the healing arts for 35 years and am the Director of Healing Activities for The Fraternity of Light, a mystical school founded on the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan. I am also the founding director of the SpiritHeal Institute for Intuition and Healing, a healing school devoted to training people from all walks of life to develop their intuitive and healing skills. See Light Journey Training in menu above.
Q: Should I consult a medical intuitive in an emergency situation?
A: This would be something each medical intuitive would define as part of their scope of practice. I suggest that people who find themselves in an emergency situation follow traditional emergency procedures and if there is time for a phone call at any point it should be to have someone put you on a prayer list.. Prayer healing has been found to greatly support patients engaged in the emergency process as noted by Dr. Larry Dossey in his book Reinventing Medicine. Once the patient is stabilized it may be productive to work with an intuitive as an integrative modality along with traditional medical therapy to help understand the more subtle aspects of the situation.
